Usage: "Mea culpa" for mere solecisms is almost jocular: the words are serious. Roman Catholics apologizing to God for their life or a specific sin say "Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa," accompanied by three ritual thrusts at the left breast - where the heart was once thought to be.
Usage: All I can say is mea culpa.
