Definition
(Noun) Common phrase using the acronym LAN {Local Area Network}A social gathering utilizing computer networking technology to connect participants through their computers in a single location. An event where people bring their own computers, connect to a local gaming server, and play games with each other all night long. Mass consumption of caffeine and junk food is optional.
Usage: The good reverend's wife was encouraged to check out the church's LAN party and voiced concern when she saw everyone playing video games in the dark and the pyramid of cans made from empty Mountain Dew and Monster Energy drinks.
