(Adjective) with gap in between; not consecutive, as in the sequence "1 2 3 4 5 8 9 10", in which the numbers 6 and 7 are missing

(NOTE: I've used this word many times, but all of my spelling and meaning dictionaries do not have it. I see plenty of uses of it on the web, even in ".edu" web sites. It also appears in Wiktionary, which is the only online dictionary I found that has it, but I wouldn't consider Wiktionary to be authoritative.)
Usage: A discontiguous network comprises two major networks.

Gaza and the West Bank are two discontiguous blocks of land.

discontiguous rate
(Adjective) Fragmented, particularly relating to length, area or network
Usage: The bridleway from A to B is discontiguous because of the central section that is designated pedestrian only.
