Definition
A vulgar Scottish term of abuse meaning, literally, a bag of shit, derived from blether or blather, a bag or bladder, and skate or skite , shit. This term features in the Scots song Maggie Lauder : ' Jog on your gait, ye blatherskate. Modern equivalents would be: shit-for-brains; bag of shit.
