Definition
(Adjective) Fragmentation/degradation of concrete where reinforcing bars are corroding within and splitting the concrete causing areas to fall away. Also applies to damage caused by ingress of water to concrete which subsequently freezes causing similar damage.Usage: There is evidence of SPALLING of the concrete lintels
