Patel rate
(Pronoun) A very common Hindu last name. The surname 'Patil' derived from 'Patel'. Few Muslims also have 'Patel' as their surnames. They changed their surnames to this historically to match the cultures of the surrounding Hindus. Patel, in a literal sense means 'owner of the land' in the ancient language of Sanskrit. The surname is derived from the Indian state of Gujarat. All Hindu Patels can be traced back to six villages in Gujarat - Dharmaj, Vaso, Sojitra, Bhadarun, Kharamsad, and Nadiad.
Usage: The doctor, Mr. Patel, was a very kind man.
