sine

Definitions

sine rate
(Noun) (1) A mathematical function of an angle that assumes that the angle is part of a right triangle of and retunrs the ratio of the opposite side divided by the hypotenuse.
(2) A mathematical function that places an angle on the Cartesian plane and that creates two one-unit long sides so that the agle formed by the sides is the measure of that angle, and another side equal to the distance of the endpoints of the two segments. The returned value of the ration of the side oppisite the angle to the distance between the endpoints of the sides. The sides appear in the Quadrant I if the angle is acute, Quadrant II if the angle is obtuse, etc. Abbreviated sin
Usage: The sin of 90 degrees is 1.

1. (Noun) A mathematical function that places an angle on the Cartesian plane with side lengths one-unit long, and another side is formed from the ends of the sides. The returned value is the ratio of the side oppisite the angle to the distance between the endpoints of the sides. Abbreviated sin
Usage: The sine of 90 degrees is 1.

sine rate
(Noun) A mathematical function of an angle that places the angle on position (0,0) on the Cartesian coordinate plane so that one side of the angle lies on the points from the origin to (0,1), and that another side that contains all the points from (0,1) to (1,1), and returns the value of the side oppisite that angle divided by the distance from the angle to that side. Abbreviated sin
Usage: The sine of 90 degrees is 1.
