In military parlance, since WWI, an inspection of the penis for tell-tale signs of venereal infection. Humorously defined by Frederic Mullally in The Penthouse Sexicon (1968) as: 'A lot of old Army claptrap.'

Etymology: A pun on small-arms inspection, the inspection of rifles and pistols.
Synonyms: prick parade; tool check.
