Bob Hope

(Noun) American comedian (1903-2003). A national institution for 50-plus years, but his fresh/hilarious/topical humor of the 1930s became dated/less-than-funny/too-cynical/too right-wing/irrelevant as the decades wore on. But to Hope's credit, he realized this and tried to adjust. Famous for his U.S.O. shows in combat areas.Usage: By 1991, Bob Hope was passé - but there were still moments ... . From the middle of nowhere (an American warship off Iraq):
